Meet the coaching team behind Euros's Ultimate White Collar Challenge:

Head Coach - Chris Rees

Chris Rees

Chris has taken on the challenge to train Euros for his first Semi Pro MMA bout on 14 July 2012. Chris is an inspirational coach and has a very calm manner about him making him the ideal instructor to juggle Euros’s busy schedule!

Chris has took on the challenge to train Euros for the Challenge in March 2012. Chris is an inspirational coach and has a very calm manner. He has over twenty years of martial arts experience and holds black belts in traditional Ju-Jutsu, Shotokan Karate and Aikido. Chris is a black belt under Braulio Estima and an official instructor under the Gracie Barra Association.

Chris has been teaching martial arts to children and adults since 2002 and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2004. You can expect to be guided through your BJJ practice from beginning to end with each technique broken down and fully explained in a relaxed, safe and friendly atmosphere.

Chris teaches classes in Swansea and Cardiff. He is also available for private (solo or group) lessons in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, submission wrestling/nogi, wrestling, mixed martial arts and conditioning/personal training.

Jessica Richards, Sports Therapist

Jess started working with Euros in January 2012, and has been active on the sports therapy side and is keeping him in good shape!

Jess started working with Euros in January 2012, and has worked on the sports physio and therapy and is keeping him in training. Jess has always been a keen sports woman and started competing at cricket at the club level in Dafen in 1998 and then moving on to County level in 2001 and the Wales U15/17 Girls Cricket in 2004 then moving up to Seniors in 2006.

In 2007, Jess competed for the first time at International level, in the indoor World Cup competition in Bristol. In 2008, Jess had to retire from International Cricket due to a shoulder injury but has focused her energy on Sports Therapy and worked with top athletes and teams worldwide. Jess started the JR Therapy business in 2008 and now works with over 100 clients, ranging from Triathletes, Rugby teams and working with general rehabilitation patients.

Coach - Shaun Parry

Shaun Parry

After developing a keen interest in MMA over 5 years ago Shaun started studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a martial art in which he is now a purple belt. During his time as a Personal Trainer, Shaun has coached many people in preparation for BJJ and MMA competition (including himself). As MMA and Personal Training are activities Shaun enjoys, it seemed natural to merge the two and find new, effective ways of training in order to help his clients be in peak condition to come fight time.

Coached at Elite Level for last 15 years - last 9 years at Ospreys Rugby since their inception in 2003.

WRU Level 4 and 5 qualified coach and Coach Educator

Coached Wales on 2009 tour to Canada & USA

Writer of several educational programmes including Rugby Studies for BTEC in 1999.

Current BBCW Scrum V Rugby Analyst

1st ever Director of Rugby at Hartpury College - developed the initial 5 year plan for the Academy with Principal Malcolm Wharton - now one of the Premier Rugby Institutions in the country

Previously player at Loughborough Students, Rugby Lions RFC, Maesteg RFC and Aberavon RFC.

Fighters on the Celtic Battle MMA Night…

As part of the Swansea Gracie Barra Predator Team – there will be a total of 9 members competing at the MMA Amateur, Semi-Pro and Pro level. The full list of fighters will be revealed in the next week, so watch this space keep following us on Twitter.

Brett Johns is one of Wales best up and coming prospects, unbeaten in semi pro with a 5-0 record and a Title belt along the way he has yet to lose a round in the cage. He will be making his professional rules debut on July 14th

  • 7.30am Wake up… struggle to get up :(
  • 7.40am Grapefruit juice + 1xPint of water
  • 7.50am Shadow box for 10 mins
  • 8.00am x2 poached eggs on whole meal toast x1 protein shake
  • 9.00am MMA training – pads/sparring/conditioning/BJJ/Wrestling (varied)
  • 10.15am Go to work – Meetings/internal/travel etc
  • 11.00am Banana + Ryvita and peanut butter
  • 1.00pm Lunch – chicken breast + rice
  • 1.30pm Meetings/work
  • 3.00pm Snack – protein shake
  • 3.15pm Meetings/work
  • 5.00pm Snack – pre-training – pear
  • 5.30pm GYM – conditioning/strength/core/explosive work/cardio (varied)
  • 7.00pm Snack – protein shake
  • 7.30pm Dinner – chicken/veg/salad/
  • 8.30pm Work
